So - I took a closer look.

Tracking its progress from, virtually, day 1.
Through July this year,
Up to the point where I pruned it.
At which point I noticed a decided lack of flat-topped tree stump effect.
I also noticed a loose section of "bark" (See extra)
The combination of the two sights prompted me to do an unscheduled update.
For those unfamiliar the 10P piece is the same diameter as a$0.25, an Australian 10 something
(Dependent upon whether they were on £ S D in1994, or $)
or a 1 Deutsche Mark in1982.
