Glass Blowing & Craftsmanship

This evening Stephen Ramsey demonstrated his skills in working with glass, from blowing bulbous tubes for scientific work, to creating dainty rosebuds from glass. His apprenticeship lasted ten of the 48 years he's been working with glass, and he's worked at London's Imperial College for the past 25 years. Amazing to watch.

My Extra is a montage from the fancy dress parade this evening of various artistes - fire-eaters and flame jugglers, a caged dancer, all sorts. The grounds of St Wulfram's were highly decorated and fancy "silk" dresses that dangled from trees were actually made of white bin liners. Great fun - a part of Gravity Fields' Science Festival with less gravitas!
