BBC Proms

If we're down in London on holiday in August, we usually try to fit a Prom into our trip. This year the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland were performing with the BBC SSO and violinist Nicola Benedette. I couldn't audition this year as the course clashed with this holiday which has been planned ever since London won the games 7 years ago. We still got to be part of an exciting concert seeing young musicians we knew from Perth playing in an iconic venue.

The rest of the day was actually spent indoors mostly. Mum and I were informed it would be sunny so we were all set to go watch some Olympic events in Hyde Park. However, we stepped off the tube at Marble Arch and the heavens opened so we dived into M&S and had a nice chilled day shopping in Oxford Street instead while Dad and Hilary got very wet watching the marathon on the Mall.
