Out around 8; met her at the school and gave her a birthday card and then off we went to her child hood -Cumbernauld / Abronhill.
Palacerigg was cool and laden with sloes but largely closed; so we went and parked at her old house; walked to the primary school through the underpasses, then to the high school, passing all her friends' houses and the shopping centre. Passing her aunt / uncle's house, to the first house they lived in there. All very reflective.
Then to the town centre; the Tryst, the shopping centres and a mooch about there.
We came back mid afternoon and pottered about; then ready for dinner at Osso in Peebles; the chef was recently on GBM and blipper NadinePierce has talked him up so...
A swift one one in the pub (and managed to bump into a colleague or two!) before dinner; tasty salmon salad and crispy belly pork croquettes before salt cod, chorizo and chickpeas (her) and haunch of venison (me) and a shared raspberry and choc dessert. Not too bad; lovely setting too.
And home for a night cap.
