Time to choose your Christmas cards
A packed and varied day today. The usual walk into town for coffee and a few things which is where I snapped this lady perusing the charity Christmas card barrow in the Royal Star Arcade. In Jubilee Square was the Maidstone Cycle Forum, encouraging people to get on their bikes or at least have them security marked. Another stall was extolling the benefits of cycling to reduce weight having blocks of "fat" for people to pick up and recoil from.
While Susan was helping out at her mum's I was refereeing at Faversham for the first game of the season. A bit of a one sided affair as Faversham beat Dartford Valley 46-0. Very hospitable in the clubhouse afterwards. An uncanny coincidence as it was 3 years ago almost to the weekend when I wrecked my knee at Faversham. Pleased to get through the game without any ill effects.
In the evening we went to a Barn Dance in aid of the Boughton Monchelsea Scout Group. A very enjoyable evening even though the numbers were sufficiently small that we could have held the event in a large shed rather than a barn (well, the Village Hall) Most of the dances were local to Kent and although we have done a lot of this sort of dancing most of the dances were new to us.
