An angry Blipper on a wild day!

Not a great day today, with the wind getting up and rain in the air, but I photographed these boats at the North Pier on a choppy harbour and will have to make do with that.

We'd decided to see the remake of 'Swallows and Amazons', showing in the small theatre in Oban cinema at lunchtime today. I have only two words for any Arthur Ransome fans who might consider seeing it - don't bother!

Absolute and total crap, if you'll excuse the word. What was a simple and lovely story of 1930s children sailing in the Lake District has been turned into a pathetic spy story, with fights, guns, knives, seaplanes and a guy hanging off a train. Who could imagine John pointing a gun at a couple of thugs! More like the '39 Steps' than 'Swallows and Amazons'! And why cast the lovely Kelly McDonald as 'Mother'? I don't remember the original character being a smoking Scotswoman from Portsmouth!

Better stay at home and have a nice leisurely lunch!
