Alan Davies

I first saw Alan Davies in Edinburgh almost 20 years ago, he was can't-get-my-breath funny and had amazing hair. I fell a little bit in love. Then there were the 'Jonathan Creek' years when his hair got even better, I have them on DVD. I'm not an obsessive fan, but I have to admit, I am still a fan. A lot of people don't get it and I understand that, but I've always had a thing for funny men with curly hair. Especially when they like cats ;)

Maggie is not a fan. She refers to him as 'that unfunny poodle haired bloke you like'. But, oddly, she said she would come and see his show with me. I was very apprehensive, I know she has the same taste in comedy as I do but what if he just wasn't funny anymore? What if he's lost it? It has been at least a decade since I've seen any of his stand-up....

I needn't have worried, he was brilliant. The hair isn't quite as good these days and he's married with children instead of single with cats, but he's still hilarious. Tears of laughter kept rolling down my cheeks and you can't ask more than that.
Mags grudgingly agreed he was 'better than she thought he would be' which is glowing praise indeed.
:D
