Coming right at you!

Though they were coming right at me they were also further away than it looks. Thank goodness  for that ,there were only a couple hundred of them. They are black skimmers ,and I was lucky to get this in focus. Very quiet when sitting on the sand they were very racous in the air when disturbed. They were hanging out  on the beach with some gulls, maybe they picked up some bad habits. They are cute with the long orange bills and I did get to see some skimming over the water finding things to eat. The extra is from dawn on the beach . The late morning was spent on a salt marsh boat tour-black and yellow crowned night herons, egrets out my ears, black bellied plovers, short billed dowitchers, one semipalmated plover and lots of cormorants and yellowlegs. Most of the rest of the day was spent coming back.sigh.
