An exquisite bronze statue of the Emperor Nero, dating from around AD50, illustrates the intrusion of the Roman Empire into the life of the British Isles, the impact of their invasion felt by the people of The Celts.

The eponymous exhibition, a joint venture with The British Museum, finished today, but did much to illuminate the history and achievements of this often mysterious and long-lasting civilisation - a way of life that did much even to outlast the might of Rome.
