2 lanes, each 12 ft wide is the old Route 66.

Alongside is Interstate 40, the replacement.

I-40 is wide enough to comfortably cruise and pass trucks at 75-80 mph. The old Route 66 becomes shaky above 55 mph due to width and the concrete joints.

Route 66 served the United States well for about 50 years. Now it is a Heritage highway and a tourist attraction.
