A Bump in the Hebrides
Well, well, well, who would have thocht it! It seems we had a lucky escape from being bumped ashore by the ferry we were on last Friday.
With the mv Hebrides out of action for a few days and all crossings from Tarbert to Uig cancelled in the meantime, had we been travelling this week, our homeward route might not have been so straightforward. Lady Luck was kindly disposed to us, it seems.
His Lordship, like Lazarus, has risen from his bed of sickness to greet the new week a much better man. I had no doubt he would; imprinted in his psyche is the fact that if you are going to be ill, the weekend is the time, so that you can have two days in bed and be better for the new business week.
Fortunately the Monday gym work out seemed a step too far even for him. Instead I took his place for the first time in 10 months. I have a love/ hate relationship with the place- mostly hate.
Since I entered its portals last, they have changed the entry console so that people needing reading glasses who forget to bring them have to peer very closely at the extraordinarily small numbers and hope they punch in the correct ones. As fate would have it, I got in.
