Mono Monday – Culture
In 1986 I was one of two UK delegates to the 9th International Symposium of the International Federation of Social Workers. It was held at The National Children’s Centre, Shibuya, Tokyo from 25th to 31st August.
Our flight home was some six days later so we were able to take the Bullet train to Hiroshima and work our way back to Tokyo via Kyoto using local trains – a wonderful 5 days exploring some of Japan and its culture. My blip today is one of the items I brought back from the trip, a Geisha Doll. I think it is a recognisable aspect of Japanese culture both then and now.
