Castle Hill Peak

This is the one that hpx was planning to tackle today. What an awe inspiring experience to be up there.

After yesterday's gloom I was surprised to see biddybid's blip of the Christchurch skyline with the mountains in the background. There was the Torlesse Range, glowing in the sunshine below a blue sky! Lower down you can see the murk that I was trapped in.

Conditions were not a lot better today and my son suggested a drive up towards the mountains to see if they were visible further up. They were!

Castle Hill Peak is the highest point on the Torlesse Range at 1997m or 6553ft.
