Show and tell table

I was quite amazed when one of the ladies that attends the Natural History society meetings brought this in tonight. She thought it might be a Convolvulus hawk moth, but actually it's a Clifden nonpareil or Blue underwing moth Catocala fraxini, the Victorian moth collectors all time favourite, now mostly an immigrant, and only recorded a few times each year, usually in September.
Sadly it was dead, but as you can see from the shot it was huge, and quite a moth to find!
