Bamburgh Castle
So this is Saturday!
A leisurely and rather indulgent breakfast followed by a Latte by the sea, waiting for the tide to clear off the causeway so we could drive over to Holy Island. It's only accessible by car when the tide is out which makes it all the more enchanting to visit.
And what a magically mystical place Lindisfarne Castle is. Despite its intriguing history, there was something so very homely and cosy about it.... I could see myself living there.... maybe.... well as long as the lights in the corridors stayed on. Stephen Spielberg and his film crew were apparently filming there last week, maybe Transformers I don't know.
Anyone remember Cold Feet being filmed there, I seem to remember them watching sunrise on New Year's Day from the beaches of the castle but I can't seem to find anything about it online.
Anyway, this is Bamburgh Castle, not Lindisfarne, although both can be seen from the same beach. We wanted an apricot sunset and a sea with fiery reflections. But that was not to be, but great fun was had with tripods as we watched the castle slowly starting to glow to the sound of the waves and the seabirds. Worth missing Strictly Come Dancing for :))
