Fly fishing in Watendlath

This morning Jane and I got thoroughly wet, muddy and blown away after we climbed Great Mell Fell to add another Wainwright to our tally.  We then headed off to Whinlatter pass to add another only to find that the road to Whinlatter was closed for repairs following the flood damage last year.

We therefore decided to drop in on John Gravett to see if he was home.    He was and so we joined John and Blipper Rainie in Watendlath for a pleasant afternoon "togging".  The weather fortunately improved.

We all took shots of this fisherman.  I think he wondered what we were doing.  My extra is of the Lake at Watendlath.

Sadly,  the pretty bridge was trashed in the floods last winter and there are heroic attempts to repair it.

For anyone coming to the Blipmeet in the Dog & Gun in Keswick tomorrow,  I have added the following comment to the Blipmeet Forum:

We are getting a bit worried that we wont all fit in the Dog & Gun particularly for food. It's not possible to book tables there. At last count there were 10 people.
We were wondering whether it might be sensible to book a table elsewhere to eat. The Royal Oak or The Wainwright are possibilities.
We can still meet up in the D&G and move on at, say 6.30pm.
It would be helpful to know how many plan to eat. Can you let us know and also whether you approve of this plan

PS We have booked a table at the Royal Oak for 8pm sorry I mean 7pm
