Globe artichokes, berries and 'I don't know what'

At last the day arrived for some shiatsu treatment on my back, a lovely young woman based in a town an hour and a half away. She also used needles which was different, the next day or two will tell how well it all worked. An easy meal this evening along with the last of the globe artichoke John bought a few weeks ago - top left shows the inner leaves and base, very pretty and a pain to take a photo to show at its best. We ate it raw, pulling off the leaves, nibbling the tender ends dipped in a dressing along with the base cut into thin slices.

John couldn't identify the tall green leaves, at first thinking it could be a banana plant.
