Joy on the Summit...

... of the Sustenhorn (3,503m) at 9am after a 3 hour climb from the hut. Fabulous weather but an icy wind on top meant we did not stay there for a picnic!

I rarely publish pictures of people but it is the companionship between people on the mountains that is so important to me, and therefore the occasional summit shot might appear in my journal. Steve is a great friend (and guide) of 33 years and Akemi who I just met for the climb, is also a young-at-heart retiree so we got on famously. Thanks to them both for a great 2 mountain days.
