Crew Change Day
Today it is crew change day. Most of them are Malaysian crew members today. Their terms are three months and due to the shortage of qualified personnel for tugs, their home leave is not so long as it should be. I am very happy for them that they are home with Christmas just in time. It is a long flight home however. See the flight details for our cook for instance: Retriever to Pointe Noire (Congo) by crew boat, Point Noire Airport, Libreville (Gabon), Casablanca (Morocco), Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Manila. He will arrive in Manila the 19th of December in the evening. Tired? I would think so after 72 hours traveling. On the picture you see the Husky coming alongside the Retriever in order to pick up our homebound crew and deliver the fresh crew. We are still towing a barge, so the Husky had to shuttle our crew this time.
