Our Dry Pond

The area in this picture is our pond!  When I moved into this house, this pond had a clay liner and was full of water, but with two large willow trees immediately adjacent to it.  These trees broke through the clay liner and the pond quickly dried and started to rise and fall with the water table.  A plastic liner was fitted and things improved a little, but the poor quality liner broke down almost immediately.  Since then, regardless of what has been done the pond only exists during the winter months.  I do hope in the future to dig it out and replace the liner with a good quality one, so that we have a pond there all year round.
