Polonia

To Ruby and I Portuguese is not a language that is as easy on the ear as Spanish, French or Italian. Years ago I heard it described as Spanish with a heavy Russian accent. Now when you hear Lisboans speaking I feel it could very well pass as Polish or something else Eastern European.

We are getting through this linguistic confusion by settling into a wonderfully relaxing routine of mornings in the apartment having a leisurely breakfast with city views, gentle strolling in the backstreets, stopping for coffee and cakes at outdoor kiosks and generally following no other set agenda. It feels indulgently great.
