A deceptive lock

I've walked past this gate many times and never seen it closed before.  There's a new sign posted on it:  Private Drive.  I thought the gate was locked, but then I noticed that the lock wasn't snapped shut.  Some nice rust on it and the latch hinge though.  I liked that dangling bit of rope too.
Another lovely fall day, perfect for a walk then some work in the garden.
