From The Bottom To The Top

This is the lift down to Shanklin IOW seafront or up to the top of the cliff which leads to the town. Alternatively you can walk up or down the steps which wind their way through Shanklin Chine.
It runs from 10.00am to 21.55pm and costs £1 each way or £1.50 return. Bargain !
I believe it was built around 1928. It has been out of action for a while, but this year it has been given a new lease of life and has worked perfectly for the last few months.. It will be closed again for the winter (and maybe Spring) season. Hopefully back again for the high season next year.
