Learning day by day

Wimpole was at war this weekend. We did the Junior Park Run, Will ran on his own for the first time and I enquired about volunteering on an ad hoc basis, when we can get there for 9am.

We then stayed on to have a look around. Will did some spy training which involved an assault courses and then some training on various types of gun. Carys was initially reluctant to join in but did eventually do the assault course and enjoyed it once I had told her I really didn't care if her leggings got muddy!

From there we headed to the house and they both had a quiz to answer. Carys asked a couple of dancers to teach her to waltz and then did a few steps of lindy hop before Will got bored and we had to leave. I felt sorry for C but to be fair, W hangs around a lot for her, so it was only fair. This is a shot of them under stairs learning to make do and mend. The lady was amazing, so patient and enthusiastic. They both got to have a go at helping to make a rag rug, it was hard work to pull them away. We also got to see a Spitfire do a fly past, a goose bump moment.

From there we headed to Wood Green and had a look at the animals that needed rehoming. Back home for roast diner. A really lovely day all in all.
