Old Faithful

When l was a child of about 5 - 6, l was given a view master and some reels to view. One of these was of Yellowstone National Park and was where l first heard of Old Faithful so it was a first 'must' when we arrived in the park.
Old Faithful goes off approx every 90 minutes nowadays and so we waited and waited - it had gone off just before we arrived. It gives off about 3.5 - 8.5 million gallons of scalding hot water in each eruption at a height of about 130 - 140 feet. The show is brief but worth the wait.
We also visited the Grand Prismatic hot springs and the Mammoth terraces which are spectacular.
