Dressing up

Had to visit the grand ladies on the Malieveld once more, now that they're in town till the end of this weekend. Shortly before they went in for their show they were dusted off with brooms and sat down ever so gently for this grooming, they behave so delicate and beautiful!

One of the circusmembers told me these 3 lady elephants are born and raised in their circus; they're now 42, 45 and 49 years of age and are dearly loved by all. He said they love the attention of the public both on show and outside like where I was. They have very delicate soles on their feet and are ticklesh there too:)

The black spots in their faces are from the ointment the carers put there against dehydration of their delicate skin around their eyes! Anti wrinkle creme for them too:) I was told these skin patches are rubbed with ointment to prevent them from dehydration when they're showered with luke warm water.
