Red Hot Poker
Kniphofia uvaria or Torch Lily. This one is in our garden. In parts of SE Australia, the Red Hot Poker has escaped cultivation and become naturalised. It is now regarded as a potential environmental weed in these locations, spreading into natural areas where it can grow in thick clumps and threaten sensitive eco-systems. See extra by Toby Hudson from the archives. Shame if it's not wanted as they are very lovely.
