Dumfries House

A quick change around after work for a trip to Dumfries House with Mr Q. Our group were treated to champagne and canapés and then a tour round the most magnificent house. I must admit to feeling quite anxious when the guide told us that the Chippendale bookcase we were standing beside was valued at £25 million. Yep, that's right, for a bookcase!

Next stop was Trinity Church Cumnock for a concert with Nicola Benedetti, Alexei Grynyuk and Leonard Elschenbroich. Their musical talent is astonishing. We met the artists after the concert and they were all so charming and friendly and very normal!!

Next stop the Dumfries Festival Club for some food and more music, this time three young men playing accordion, piano and guitar/mandolin, Causeway Trio. They were brilliant, a sort of mix of Celtic, jazz, Brazilian etc. So technically accomplished and also so creative. Oh, to be so talented!

All in all a great night.
