Not sunflowers

These enormous plants are Jerusalem Artichokes and the flowers look very like sunflowers. I have had a patch of them at the bottom of the garden for years and I keep them because I love to make soup from them. They usually grow to about 5 or 6 feet but this year they have taken over and grown to at least 10 feet or more.
