Gibson Mill
We arrived at Hardcastle Craggs at 8:30 this morning to try and avoid the crush; the access is awful, very narrow winding roads and not many passing places, but as usual as we were making our way back to the car, everyone else was just starting to arrive.
Gibson Mill was built around 1800 and is situated within Hardcastle Crags near to Hebden Bridge. The addition of a weaving shed in 1840 led to the production of cotton cloth until 1890, but at the turn of the century it started a new life as an Entertainment Emporium with roller skating and tea dances which continued until 1940 when it fell into ruin. The National Trust acquired it in 1950
