Kitchen Cove, 17.32, 1.10.16
Apologies for lack of communication over the last week but I've had a bit of a lurgy: headaches and dizziness. I blame the first arthouse of the season, one of those deeply depressing, real time, incredibly slow, minutely detailed, incredibly realistic, hand held camera jobs.
Anyway, I'm feeling better today and the bright, sunny weather helped. Kitchen Cove was looking sparkling. The tide high, the gulls wheeling and voices floating down from the pub garden above. I was hoping to see some Portuguese men of War for apparently there is an infestation in Irish waters - 80 washed up into South Harbour, Cape Clear island, which is fairly close. Nothing doing but we did spot 5 fat catfish happily feeding off the pier at Dooneen where we went later. And this week we had a hedgehog in the garden, the first time for many years.
Just a reminder that it's Derelict Sunday tomorrow and we've nearly managed a year - DS50 tomorrow! 60plus finishes off her stint at hosting tomorrow and then I shall take over for the rest of October. If anyone fancies doing it after that please let me know.
