The Kelpies in Dunoon

Sculptor Andy Scott who created the Kelpies - which I have blipped before - has now created 1/10th size maquettes which have been touring a variety of venues both to advertise the wonderful full size sculptures by the canal in Falkirk and to promote Scotland's creativity.

For the next fortnight they will be sitting on the breakwater in Dunoon and the opening ceremony  this evening was very lively and included an excellent contribution by my old friend the actor and inspirational founder of "Spirit Aid"  David Hayman, who is my extra picture.

They will be lit up at night and they make a visit to Cowal Fest - the local walking and arts festival which is held every October - all the more enticing.  Come and have a look "doon the watter".
