A beautiful evening for...
...a Bangladeshi get together!
Mum and I went along to a work related event tonight. The food was fabulous, we shared a table with some lovely people and we listened to a play about the 1971 independence war.
The play was really quite something else. There were just three people up on stage for about an hour just taking it in turns to tell their story. It was spellbinding. The words were so powerful it was more like watching a film than listening to a story. I could see it all playing out before me.
The three doing the talking were members of Glasgow's Bangladeshi community, not professional actors. They were tremendous.
And the evening was rounded off by a slightly hysterical woman pulling out raffle tickets at the speed of light before telling everyone to hurry up and get their prizes so we could all go home. She was hilarious :-)
