@DeclanMcKenna & @lilblissgirl keeping it real!

I reckon this is the first time I've gone to a gig for a support act... fresh from his appearance on Later with Jools Holland this week, Declan McKenna was supporting Blossoms in Glasgow tonight.

We first saw him back in summer 2015 at The Green Man, our festival of choice for the past 7 years. He'd won Glastonbury's Emerging Talent Competition a few months earlier at the age of 16 so we encouraged Ms H to go see what he was like, given her own aspirations. I caught his last last couple of songs and was suitably impressed - a solo performance with accompanying gadgets.

Since then, Ms H was hooked, and we've been following his releases each showing the maturity of his songwriting, the passion of his performances and the fun of his youth - he's still 17!

So we managed to get a 2nd row viewing tonight, it was fab but over too soon. Unexpectedly while checking out the merch, post Blossoms, he was there and took the time to chat to the girls and sign their posters  - it made their day and they'll not stop talking about it for ages. What a nice guy, such talent and promise with his feet still on the ground - we wish him the best for the future, he deserves it!
