Gold post box - IOM style!
The craze for painting post boxes gold has reached the Isle of Man, with this one in Onchan in honour of Peter Kennaugh, the Manx cyclist who won gold in the Team Pursuit and broke the world record in doing so. If Mark Cavendish had won the road race, it would have been two, but still, not bad for a small rock in the Irish Sea! The Royal Mail has a list of gold boxes on their website, and annoyingly, they've taken credit for painting this one, when of course the Royal Mail doesn't operate on the IOM, as our post service is run by IOM Post. Nit picking of course, but then we're not part of the UK!
