Every dog does indeed have its day.
The Western bulldogs hadn't won an AFL premiership since 1954. Yesterday they won the grand final amidst much joy for the working class underdog. I suppose it was a bit like our version of Leicester City winning the FA cup. The fact that the losing team was the Sydney Swans from NSW made the victory even sweeter for some Victorians.
At morning tea after church today, this parishioner was wearing his heart on his sleeve you might say. My voice held out for two services and then died at morning tea. Fortunately a colleague said he would take the 5pm service for me.
