Hup, Hup, Hup!
Another fantastic day at the Olympics! We've been so lucky. Took a fair bit of travelling to get to Hadleigh for the mountain biking but it was definitely worth it.
We left just after 8am, bus to East Croydon then train to London Bridge. From here we took probably the longest walk possible to Fenchurch Street (taking photos of the Olympic Rings on Tower Bridge, a couple of Wenlock Statues and the Trinity House building where Grandpa/Dad worked on the way). Then train to Leigh-on-Sea and finally a bus to the site. High-fived hundreds of over-happy Games Makers and finally arrived at the course.
Biggest surprise was all the Swiss supporters, but then, they do have plenty of mountains to bike down, so I suppose it was obvious really. Added to the excitement anyway - suddenly we had three competitors to support and we went around the park saying Gruezi to all Swiss supporters! (Not quite loud enough for them to hear us, I must add.) They certainly came prepared - not just the flags, t-shirts, rucksacks... but also the cow-bells!
Go GB, Go Team Suisse!!!
