Apple
Busy day today. We started by doing some recycling in the village followed by recycling our green waste in town. We then had lunch in Waitrose - which too for ever - then we did a round of shopping. On the way home we went to our orchard to collect our apples - lots of happy Eregmont Russet and Ashmead's Kernel apples, plenty of small Cox's Orange Pippings and some unhappy Orleans Reintees. Next year we'll have to spray the trees with a calcium salt solution to prevent bitter pit from developing.
We then went to the community orchard to pick the apples that hadn't been picked way to early by some idiots who also damaged some of the trees. We'll now have some apples to taste for the orchard day next Saturday, even if some are ours.
Today's back blip is one of the red apples surrounded by some green russeted ones.
