Nosferatu - Praying Mantis, Languedoc

I came across this spooky invertebrate in a vineyard - quite unnerving through a close-up macro! Especially when it swivelled its head towards me.. The previous shots were pretty flat. Then suddenly the sun broke through the clouds casting a wonderful shadow and instantly reminding me of the classic German silent/vampire film, Nosferatu. There's something very primal about the fear most humans have for insects. But the Praying Mantis is up there with the scariest I think. It must be the slime green skin and big 'alien' bug eyes!
