Happily Ever After

When I first met Gladys, she introduced herself as Glad. I have been very glad to get to know her!
She has been a widow for at least 20 years and life has been tough. She is a proud Essex girl and is an active member of our parish.

We pulled off a mighty surprise at church today when Gladys and her new gentleman friend turned up in their finery, and were married by my assistant priest, Rev Jack Humphrey, another native of Essex.

I don't know how I managed to keep the secret, but we managed to persuade her friends to come to church without divulging exactly why. What fun!

So, God bless Gladys and George, as they both have another chance at married love and companionship.
