Hawkins wins the 2016 Great Scottish Run
Callum Hawkins won the Half Marathon in Glasgow today, in 60:22, a new Scottish Half Marathon record. He is the first Scot to win the race since 1983.
This was taken in Pollokshields, around the 22 minute mark. Kipsiro from Uganda was 2nd in 60:54, Kimutai from Kenya 3rd in 61:34.
We also saw the First Mascot home, "Harvey" running for the Brick by Brick Appeal for the new Hospice in Bellahouston Park. (extra)
Great fun watching the runners, and cheering on our friends Henry Jnr and Andrew G.
A walk later in the afternoon in Pollok Park revealed the mess left after a Lucozade and Water station (extra). There are thousands of bottles strewn the whole length of the main drive. Lucozade could do with supplying bottles half the size, as most only had a sook or two taken, then ditched.
