Just before he flew off the pole, the osprey turned and looked directly at me! 
We went up to Tampa for an NFL football game (Bucs versus Broncos, Bucs lost 27-7) and left at the beginning of the 4th quarter because the skies were looking menacing and we didn't want to get caught in the rain.  Well, rain it did, as well as lightning and the game was stopped for a period of time before resuming.  So, all in all, we were happy we left early!!!
