Surprise!!!

Today marks the start to a weekend of celebration as this coming week my dear mum will turn 80 years young!!

It's been month's of planning and even harder to keep things quiet as mum can be rather curious at times but we managed to pull-off a 'surprise' for her.

She couldn't believe her sister and niece came down from the North Island and her son was here from Australia. Much laughter was had as family appeared from behind couches blowing whistles, it was indeed an awesome surprise.

Tonight we've celebrated in a relaxed style, sitting round the table enjoying good food and wine and of course cake. Just three candles as we didn't want to overpower the cake which was utterly divine!

We laughed over a movie of photo's and music from childhood days and through mum's years, this was the project I've been working on for the last week or so, which everyone enjoyed.

So let this weekend of celebration and special family time begin - Happy 80th Birthday Mum!! xxx

Edit: A late shot and slightly unusual shot for flower Friday but I'll enter it as the tiny white flowers made from icing look so pretty amongst the raspberries :)
