Long beach

Yesterday Roweena moved in - a new addition to the house and posse of the science communication program. She is making a film about samba in Brazil and human rights. She is a dancer, a traveler, a filmmaker - a very interesting person along with the rest of this eclectic house.

We stayed up watching movies, eating Claire's homemade pizza, and sipping on wine. In the morning the weather was again, grey but better than the past days. We all went our for a walk down the road at Long Beach with Skye. What a gorgeous location too!

True to its name a long beach of white sand wraps around a spreading bay backed by tall, karst cliffs pockmarked with caves. Kelp and driftwood lie beached on the sands. We met a few other people out walking their dogs and a group of rock climbers on the cliffs. When warm weather comes this must be quite a lovely place to build a bonfire and toast a sunset. Even withe the chilly weather the white sand beckons, full of beauty and charm.
