A Stalk in the Soy
October 2nd, and the soy beans are still in the field. The corn is long gone, but the beans remain.
A couple years back, I went with a friend up into some Michigan farm country, observing both sugar beets and soy beans.
The sugar beets grow to a certain size, and they are harvested. But, the soy beans have to be dry. The farmer picked a couple of beans, slipped them into a small machine tester, and said..."Still too wet. Can't pull 'em up."
That's all I know,
about the beans of soy.
Because...you see...
I'm a city boy.
Why is the corn stalk...
in the soy bean field?
It refused to give in...
it refused to yield.
