Autumn

We've had a very autumnal day today. After school drop off and playgroup we had a spontaneous conker collection. Just as we were leaving the church A found a conker on the path. We must have been overheard talking about it as a kindly old man then came over and invited us to collect some more from the tree in his front garden! A was in his element and found loads. The only thing I had to collect them in was a nappy bag and he nearly filled it!

When we were at home this afternoon we then decided to use up some of the apples on our tree in the garden. We set about making an apple crumble. Somehow my crumble didn't go crumbly and turned into a dough, so I rolled it out and made apple pie instead! We had some with warm custard and it passed the taste test with both kiddies finishing their bowls full.
