DETERMENATION

This is not the greatest plant, but notice that he is growing on a pile of rocks.  He will be under water when the creek rises.  Probably the result of a seed deposited by the last high water.  I noticed him sometime this last Summer.  He was just two or three leaves with a big yellow blossom on top.  I thought that I should take a picture of the gutsy little guy, but I never did.  He has hung on all this time.  And as he is withering away now, he has even produced this small fruit.
