The Fishguard Bay Hotel
This is my favourite winter watering hole. The hotel is a traditional railway hotel as it was developed by the Great Western Rail Company to accommodate the passengers for the transatlantic liner trade. Unfortunately that trade never developed as the harbour began to silt up after the north breakwater was constructed. This has left us with a large and it has to be said slightly tired hotel set in its own grounds which must have been a magnificent garden when the hotel was developed. That garden is now lost under the large mature trees that are just beginning to show some autumn colour.
