Waiting

This is one of my least favourite places. After a 3am start, we arrived in good time at Stansted airport and passed through security quickly. I hate running the gauntlet of excess past all the shops and being corralled in the waiting area to contemplate all the brands trying to seduce, no longer allowed to go to the more relaxing departures area. There were medical screens surrounding a poor man who had collapsed just out of shot. Cardiac massage went on for some while but eventually the medics gave up. It was a sad and poignant moment. Life went on all around, purchases were made, coffee was drunk but no one seemed to notice or care. Sad rant over.
