Piccadilly Circus
Today was a doorbell day. It really does make it hard to get school done. But it's just a different type of education I suppose even though we end up missing whole subjects out!
These refugee girls came over and R, L and I started on the knitting class we've been planning. It was a big success (though 1:1 teacher:student ratio was necessary). 2 of the girls persevered and kept kissing their knitting! The 14 year old made me sad when she said that at home no one ever tells her she's good at anything. I tried to make up for it and give her lots of praise! R taught the other one 'finger knitting' which was a lot easier for her.
The afternoon was spent with an endless stream of children coming over, playing with rabbits (see extra), cycling, making friends with cats etc. At one point a girl got an acorn, set it alight in the gas cooker until it exploded, peeled it and gave it to me to eat- it was disgustingly bitter and I had to spit it out! Never a dull moment!
